GLITTER OR LITTER? LOREAL EAU DE TEINT FOUNDATION AKA MAGIC NUDE LIQUID POWDER.

Loreal Eau De Teint (£9.99)

When this hit the shelves in the US I was really intrigued by the claims and consistency of this seemingly “Wonder foundation” It says on Loreal’s website “Discover a fresh, hydrating foundation, lighter than water that glides on for amazing coverage with a weightless feel.” My curiosity got the better of me so I placed an order before it came out in the UK (since it had not been confirmed whether it was to come across the pond or not) So glitter or litter lets find out.

The name and bottle in the UK

I don’t know where to start with this one! The packaging is a glass bottle which looks  nice but for a product lighter than water it’s not exactly the most user-friendly, I’m usually being harassed by a small child (my son lol) while I’m doing my makeup, so it’s just kind of messy really. The instructions say to pour it on your finger and then apply to face… seriously who came up with this method? Unless you have a Barbie sized face you won’t be walking out of the door anytime soon. I just pour a bit into my palm and rub in.

This doesn’t really offer much in terms of coverage… the finish is sort of like a very light bb powder. I do like how this looks on but it just falls short of the amount of coverage I like which is such a shame. If you like a really natural but matte finish then you would probably give this a thumbs up! It applies like silk and blends in well but its pretty packed out on alcohol so it’s not particularly great for dry or sensitive skins.  I got the shade 316 nude beige because this was said to have yellow undertones and it’s quite a good match when I’m having a break from tanning; if not still slightly too pink for me.

The verdict

For some this might be an everyday base but for me, it has been used a few times, chucked in a drawer and forgotten about. The combination of the bad packaging, with the high % of alcohol that makes my eyes water means this has been unused and littering up my stash for quite a while now. Therefore, this is not for me and I would not repurchase.

Has anyone else tried this? Did you like it?
