Revlon perfumerie polish in ginger melon

Hello beautifuls ❤
I'm back from taking some time off and thought I would start out with a quick iPhone post about a polish that I have really loved wearing this month.

I was anticipating the launch of these in my local boots and really wanted to know how the scents worked/ what they were etc and if any one else out there opened up the bottle and took a big whiff…just know that you are not alone in this epic fail.

When I painted my nails and they were DRY which may I add was a surprisingly quick process that's when I could smell the scent of the polish. The brush is quite narrow so really easy to use as well.
I love this pinky coral shade and will definitely be picking up a few other colors too.
Who else has enjoyed using these or wanted to try these this month? ,

My Spring flings

Hello my fellow beauty buffs and lipstick lovers, I hope you are all well. These past couple of days have been so lovely outside it would have been criminal to stay cooped up so me and my mini me have been out and about hence why I haven’t posted. The blossom is on the trees, the color palette has changed outside and it’s really got me excited for the coming spring!

ImageRevlon highlighting palettes in Rose Glow and Bronze glow (£8.99 each), Revlon Colorburst glosses in Sizzle and Strawberry (£7.99 each)Revlon Colorstay polish in Sunburst (£7.99 each).

Orange is the shade of the season along with a bronzed glow and i don’t care what any catwalk or magazine says, a bit of sparkle is always on trend for me. I felt in the mood for a lipgloss as opposed to a lipstick plus I already own the Super Saturated lipstick in Punch Drunk should my mood change which is likely.

Image  Now I know what you might be thinking about these revlon highlighting palettes … Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks dupe? The truth is they aren’t far off atall although having used the bb shimmer bricks I personally think shimmer bricks are a creamier powder, better pay off, and have more of a selection but does this justify the massive price difference? I’ll leave that to you.

I actually really like both of these palettes and will be alternating between the two this week they do have a lovely radiance to them not a cheap bitty finish as might be expected.  I can see these being a great multi tasker as well, using “Bronze Glow” for a sun kissed décolletage and the top of “Rose Glow” for champagne highlight on the bridge of the nose and eyelids.

Image

A really good way to use this trending color for those not so sure of bright lips is to wear said color on the nails. This deep orange from revlon is spicy and warm so very wearable. This is the first time I’ve used the Colorstay formula and so far its lasted 7 nappy changes 1 sink of washing up and a very hot shower also it dried quite quickly which is a big bonus!

Image

I’m waiting for that first really sunny day of the year;  you know the one, where you can roll the windows down in the car and it’s socially acceptable to eat an ice lolly outside… because on that day I’m going to put on my Sugar Pill Goldilux eyeshadow, lashings of mascara, and this Revlon lipgloss in sizzle. As far as lip glosses go this is fairly opaque “Sizzle” should be on everyones wish list this spring!

“Strawberry ” is a shade similar to my own lips just more pink and extremely glittery so if you’re not really loving this orange trend it could be a great alternative for a splash of natural color that sparkles. These are a tad sticky but thats not really something that bothers me, they kind of feel like the MAC Pro Long Wear Glasses on if that gives you an idea of texture.

So here are my first spring purchases. Anyone else loving these things?

January favourites

photo

This months favourites have a good mix of things that I adore and wanted to share, I don’t usually write about/ review things that aren’t beauty related but I have a couple of randoms this month. I’m so excited about my discoveries 💗

       Naked  palette 3

IMG_3680

When I first saw the Instagram picture U.D posted of the naked 3, i  instantly wanted it. I love the rose gold tones and I love the rouged packaging almost as much. The brush it comes with makes it better value for money, soft synthetic bristles and double ended certainly not the crappy sponge applicator you get with other “premium״ brands.

IMG_3682-2

I love all of the colors and genuinely find them useful. I also really like that they are all new shades but do feel like the last eyeshadow would have been nicer if it was a dark wine color since it just looks black on the eye…I feel like every Urban Decay palette I own has a black in it. Over all I think it’s a beautiful edition to the naked collection and i do stare at it occasionally in a completely creepy i love you kind of way.

              Collection lasting concealer

IMG_3653

This product was so hyped up in the blogosphere that I couldn’t help but buy it, since I was in the market for a full coverage, long-lasting, easy to blend concealer that doesn’t crease under my eyes or print my mascara (not much to ask right?) so the fact that it’s perfect and under £5 is just icing on top of the cake. The packaging isn’t amazing, but what’s inside is truly exciting.
I could imagine on older eyes this could possibly sink into lines (think double wear texture when dry) but i can never be with out this in my make up bag now. 4 shades are available, i use light for under my eyes and medium for my face.

Revlon whipped 24 hour foundation 320 warm golden IMG_3691

Foundation is kind of “my thing” I own a lot of it from Armani to cover fx ,i don’t mind paying a premium since it is essential to me. It’s not that I feel ugly without it, I just love the way my skin looks with it, especially when I find one that is as good as this. The only foundation I have ever finished and repurchased is cover fx until now!

IMG_3697

Revlon whipped is really long wearing, thick, amazing coverage, it dries and sets with no powder, and never goes patchy. I do realise that it’s typically only available in America so the color could be difficult for some to get right as you cannot go and look at testers but after some extensive googling I took a risk and ordered from a seller on eBay (£16) who delivers to the uk and it was a good color for me if not slightly pink, I use it with my collection concealer and it gives me the most flawless base it’s almost not human.

Fake bake airbrush tan

IMG_3648

This has quickly become my favourite tan after I discovered a half full can that was left over from the summer I originally ditched it because i didn’t like the way it applied with the splattery nozzle however I gave it another chance and we worked our problems out. Now days I just spray it on a mitt blend it in and tada! beautiful instant color that develops evenly and is easy to use! Why didn’t I just do this before! Need I say more?
I buy this on eBay for around £17/£18 for 210ml but in the shops it’s like £20+

Sleep in rollers

IMG_3669

My fascination with these sleep in hair rollers started about 3 weeks ago and I have been obsessed ever since.
Big bouncy hair no teasing no hair powders/texturisers …just rollers. I feel like I’ve won the hair lottery.
I opted for half mega bounce half original because I wanted to achieve height and body in my hair.
The kit I bought came with 20 rollers, the carry bag, pins, and a portable drying hood (wasn’t that impressed with this the heat doesn’t circulate to the front very well) £28 on hqhair.com with 20% off I say this is a bargain for amazing hair. go and buy them now.

IMG_3673

        Loreal Elnett hairspray
This is a classic really I don’t think I’ve ever owned a different brand of hairspray that I can remember. it’s not stiff and doesn’t leave build up plus I love their limited edition cans! So so cute!

Bioderma sensibio limited edition pump bottle.

IMG_3663-2

I know i already spoke about this on a previous post but i managed to get ahold of this bottle from www.monguidesante.com which was rather exciting for me as I’ve been looking for it everywhere. I paid about £25 for this including delivery which is a little more than the standard 500ml but this is refillable. If you ever get the opportunity to buy this do it quickly as its sells out at a ridiculous speed.

Moustache & lip cupcake accessories

IMG_3642-2

How freaking cute are these!!! And would you believe it I found them in pound land. They are perfect for my valentine’s day spread I’m excited to use them! I love pound land and this is a perfect example of why I like to go in and have a look every now and then. Go and visit pound land if you have never been I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

Aeropostale yoga pants and matching hoodie

IMG_3701

Aeropostale had a fabulous sale at the end of December. I got 3 pairs of yoga pants and 2 hoodies for £60 including shipping and customs to the uk.
These are similar Victoria’s Secret pink ones but quarter of the price and so comfy!.
I joined the gym before christmas so was on the look out for some cute work out clothes, they took kind of a while to arrive due to the christmas period but I would definitely order from them again! Amazing value.

IMG_3700

So this sums up the things I’ve been loving , I’m looking forward to what february has to offer. Hopefully I can find some more products to fall head over feels for.
